Reivers' Retreat

Simply beautiful from the moment you step through the door, Reivers’ Retreat is a stunning barn conversion adjacent to the owner’s home. Formerly a fortified farmhouse, it was built to withstand the attacks along the Anglo-Scottish border between warring clans known as Reivers’, hence the name Reivers’ Retreat.

This barn conversion, designed internally by the owners, is a beautiful space to relax and enjoy with family or friends. The open plan living room/kitchen is spacious and modern, with many of the original beams still evident. The vaulted ceiling adds to the feeling of space. From this room, bi-fold doors open out onto the most amazing dining room/conservatory, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking open farmland. This room is perfect for enjoying a family meal at any time of year, whether it be when the sun is shining or the rain is falling. If it’s peace and quiet you seek, relax in the cosy snug curled up with a good book. The luxurious theme continues upstairs with 3 large bedrooms boasting sumptuous beds and bedding.

Reivers’ Retreat is ideally situated to explore the surrounding area. Take a stroll along Hadrian’s Wall, or visit the Lake District National Park, The Eden Valley and the Scottish Borders. There are numerous attractions to keep you busy from walking, cycling, fishing, golfing or a day of shopping at Gretna Green or Carlisle. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
