Laburnum Cottage
Laburnum Cottage is a charming holiday cottage set over 3 floors, with a living area on the ground floor with wood burner and with an enclosed front garden and enclosed rear garden. The bedrooms on the first and second floor enjoy a Jack and Jill en-suite while the main bedroom on the top floor has a freestanding bath in the middle of the room, perfectly placed under the skylight to enjoy those dark evenings when the stars come out.
It lies on the edge of Alston, within a 2-minute easy walk of the town, has its cobbled high street, shops, pubs, and cafés. Alston, one of England’s highest towns, is centrally located in the North Pennines, one of Britain’s last undiscovered wildernesses and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a wide range of activities and historic attractions nearby including a steam railway, historic mining attractions, fishing, golf and cycling routes including the Pennine Cycle Way and Coast to Coast.
There are many local footpaths with stunning views and wildlife, as well as the Pennine Way on the doorstep. It is also ideally placed for days out in the glorious countryside of Northumberland, Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks where you will find an abundance of castles, lake cruises, museums, halls and gardens to visit along with many other attractions There are also Water sports available nearby at Talkin Tarn and Kielder Water and Hadrian’s Wall is just 30 minutes away.
