Widewath Barn is a small self-catering barn conversion sleeping up to four people all on the ground floor. The bedroom has a double bed and bunk beds, and there is a restored stable stall in place and provides a privacy screen in the bedroom. Relax around the large pine farmhouse table in the living/dining room. This room leads into a secluded ’snug’, to look over maps and plan routes for the following day’s activity.
Stay on the owners’ working farm, enjoy local produce, tranquillity or adventure - it’s really up to you! Stay in a fantastic, renovated Barn at the heart of the owner’s farm, a stunning and timeless setting for you to explore. Venture into the fells or the valley for some stunning cycling and walking. Visit outstanding local attractions like Lowther Castle and Gardens or spend an afternoon in the nearby village of Askham and indulge in afternoon tea and cakes.
The attractive village of Askham is only a couple of miles and is centred around two village greens, it has a well-stocked shop/off licence which is open seven days a week and two pubs. In the summer families can enjoy the outdoor heated swimming pool in the village. Not only does it have a 20 metre pool staffed by lifeguards but there is also a paddling pool, refreshments kiosk and picnicking area. This location offers easy access to the Lake District through Ullswater and Haweswater, or for the more adventurous to walk on the Helton Fells, enjoy water sports on Ullswater, or explore the beautiful Eden Valley.
