It also has regular events at the Village Hall and a shop in the nearby village of Levens. The Lyth Valley is set between Kendal and Windermere and is easily accessible from the M6. You are just a few miles from the popular tourist magnet of Bowness-on Windermere, offering a wide range of restaurants and gastro pubs serving every possible type of cuisine you could want, from takeaway food to fine dining, you’ll find an abundance of bars and pubs offering locally produced ales, cocktails, and guest craft beers. Here you can take the Windermere steamers to Lakeside at the Southern point of the Lake and Ambleside in the North. You’ll also find several popular tourist attractions including The Beatrix Potter Attraction, which is great fun for kids, or Brockhole where bigger kids can enjoy a treetop safari on the high ropes, high adrenaline, and lots of fun for all ages.
In Kendal you’ll find more of the major high street brands and supermarkets, it is itself a lovely market town and excellent for a day of sightseeing and shopping. You can visit Helsington Church which has views to Morecambe Bay and Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall are all nearby. If you love the outdoors, you’ll find lovely walks from your doorstep although a short drive opens up the best the Lake District National Park has to offer with an abundance of picturesque mountain landscapes along with some of the most stunning scenery, arguably, anywhere in the country.
