This lovely cottage is the ideal choice for either a couple, family or a group of friends that want a great base for exploring the lakes, with easy access to popular attractions but set in a friendly market town. The front door opens into an open plan living/dining area which offers comfy seating for all the family or friends. There is a log effect gas fire for those winter nights. Just off the dining space is the kitchen which has all the facilities you could need for preparing anything from a picnic to a three-course meal. Upstairs there is the first of three bedrooms complete with kingsize bed and TV, and across the landing is the family bathroom with shower over the bath. Moving to the second floor is the second of the kingsize bedrooms and to finish the accommodation, there is a double room, again with TV.
A short walk takes you to the centre of Ulverston, a beautiful market town with cobbled streets and a variety of shopping opportunities. There is a good selection of independent clothing and gift shops in the town and an above average selection of pubs, cafes, restaurants, so something for every palate. The town also enjoys regular festivals and events including comedy and music festivals such as Fine Fest, celebrating the birthplace of Stan Laurel from the iconic Laurel and Hardy comedy duo, flag festivals, lantern procession and the ever popular Dickensian Christmas markets.
Within 15 minutes of the town lies world famous Lake Windermere. In addition to sailing, climbing, walking, and many other outdoor pursuits, there are many other delights to be found in the Lake District, including Michelin-starred restaurants, stately homes, museums, festivals, and of course some of the most stunning views and landscapes that inspired writers such as Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth.
