In addition, the charming market town of Kendal is often seen as the Southern Gateway to the Lake District and is the perfect base for your staycation, being only 9 miles from Windermere and 30 miles from Keswick. If you enjoy a good walk, Kendal Castle is within walking distance of Cherry Cottage, where you can enjoy a further 2-mile circular walk taking in the Castle on the Hill, and the River Kent. You can also walk into Kendal Town Centre from the property if you so desire. Kendal has plenty of cafés and restaurants to enjoy, plus a good range of supermarkets, all being a short drive away.
