Part of a developed Methodist church, the apartment lies within a small private courtyard. As you open the door you step into the open plan layout which offers a modern feel to the living and kitchen space. There are some lovely details like the strong colours and stable style sliding doors, plus the comfy sofa and chair which invite you to snuggle down after a day’s adventures. The kitchen is cosy but offer ample appliances and space to prepare a picnic to a Sunday roast, there’s even a dishwasher to save you the washing up. There are two double rooms and a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower to complete the accommodation.
Ulverston is the Birthplace of Stan Laurel, half of the legendary comedy duo of Laurel and Hardy and you will find references to Stan throughout the cobbled streets of this market town, indeed there is a museum honouring the duo. Ulverston is home to lots of festivals and events through the year including the ever-popular Christmas markets of the Dickensian festival, through to “another fine fest” offering comedy and entertainment or even the lantern procession to name but a few. Within 15 minutes you can find yourself at the foot of the magnificent Lake Windermere, passing the Motor Museum, Escape rooms and Haverthwaite Steam Railway on the way. You could take a lake cruise which will take you to the lake side towns of Bowness, Ambleside and Lakeside which offer fantastic independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Other local attractions include the Safari Zoo, Aquarium, The World of Beatrix Potter attraction or Hilltop, the inspirational home of Beatrix Potter herself, to name but a few. For the active among you there is some of the best routes for walking, cycling or climbing in the world. So, whatever your interests the Lake District will be able to deliver some fantastic memories, leaving you wanting to come back for more.
