Set within the grounds of Claughton Hall, this quaint but perfectly formed cosy cottage offers all the comforts of home, affording a private patio and garden, and far reaching views across the Lune Valley. The extended grounds of Claughton Hall are a haven for wildlife, and deer are often seen roaming the parkland. Take a stroll around the large ponds and try to spot the large Koi carp and other fish. The local pub, with it’s award-winning food, dates back to the 18th century and can be found within walking distance of the cottage down the driveway .
On arriving at Claughton Hall, you will be impressed by the grandeur of the main house and grounds. The far reaching views are breath-taking on a clear day. The cottage itself is all on one level and accessed down some steps from the private patio. On entering, the kitchen/dining room will make you feel immediately at home. You will be tempted to imagine enjoying a romantic candle lit meal around the farmhouse table for two. The living room boasts a large comfy sofa, Smart TV and stunning views. The bedroom offers a sumptuous kingsize bed, luxury Egyptian cotton bedding and a large wardrobe. To the outside of the property there is a good sized paved patio area, accessed via French doors from the kitchen. The outside space although not enclosed, is for the sole use of the guests using the cottage and offers enough privacy for relaxation and al fresco dining. Beyond the patio is a large lawned area looking onto a private mature woodland.
Claughton is a small village and civil parish situated in the city of Lancaster in Lancashire. A mere 15-minute drive from the M6 motorway makes this property easily accessible for most. The historic city of Lancaster is a short drive away. Lancaster Castle is a must see, as is a visit to Willamson Park and the Butterfly House on a fine day. The city of Lancaster holds a Charter market day every Wednesday and Saturday, and has been doing so since 1193. The Lake District National Park can also be reached within 30 minutes’ from Claughton Hall, and the wonders of the Forest of Bowland are on the doorstep too. You will be spoilt for choice for places to visit if you wish, however with the cottage being so wonderfully cosy and inviting you may never want to leave!
