Blackpool plays host to many exciting events throughout the year such as the Air Show, Illuminations and Fireworks Championships. On a rainy day, you can visit Blackpool Tower, the Grand Theatre or Winter Gardens, which shows an array of amazing performances from Strictly Come Dancing to Fireman Sam.
A tram ride up the Fylde Coast will take you to Thornton-Cleveleys, where you’ll find a traditional promenade with pavement café’s and eateries. In the other direction, a short car journey will take you to wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham and St Annes, which have a combination of rolling sand dunes, championship golf courses, boutique shops and restaurants. They also play host to well-known events such as the Kite Festival and Lytham Proms. Moving inland, you’re within easy reach of the beautiful Trough of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with rich landscapes perfect for walking and cycling.
