Visit Kendal Museum, dating back to 1796, houses historical archaeology and the largest taxidermy collection in Europe. Abbott Hall is ideal for art lovers, set on beautiful grounds on the bank of the River Kent. Other historic sites including Kendal Castle dating back to the 12th century.

Kendal is also famous for its mint cake, the first energy bar produced over 100 years ago. You can reach Windermere and Ambleside in under 30 minutes by car. These popular tourist hotspots are ideal for a day out to shop, eat, drink and make the most of the natural beauty that Lake Windermere offers. Windermere can also be reached by train with Kendal railway station being just a 15-minute walk away.
