The cottage is small, compact and has been carefully renovated with style and luxury accommodation throughout, prepared with lovely personal touches, making it a perfect home from home. There are plenty of sockets in useful places, a Bluetooth speaker built into the bathroom mirror and a remote-controlled blind for the bedroom.
The copper, freestanding Witt and Berg bateau bathtub is stunning, which you first see as you enter the bedroom at the top of the stairs. Set in the bedroom by the window, the bath is a real feature, evoking the moors and dales, Heathcliff and Kathy, ideal for a romantic soak after exploring the Pendle Sculpture Trail or tackling Pendle Hill.
Your car can be unloaded in front of the cottage and then you can park on the roadside not needing to move it again until you leave.
Entering the property, you see an open plan kitchen/breakfast bar and living area. Your fully fitted kitchen awaits you, providing everything you need. Don’t fancy cooking? Set in Roughlee in the heart of the Pendle countryside, steeped in the history of the Pendle witches. Just up from the cottage, cross the road and you start to walk along Heys Lane. This is the only original stretch of road in Pendleside which was walked by the Pendle witches in 1612 on their way to trial and execution at Lancaster. There are plenty of lovely scenic walking trails. For those more adventurous, you can walk up Pendle Hill, just 51 metres short of being considered a mountain and part of the Pendle Way, offering breath-taking views over Barley and the surrounding countryside. Roughlee is part of the Forest of Bowland, within easy reach of the picturesque village of Downham, Clitheroe and the market town of Skipton set in the Yorkshire Dales.
