There are many wonderful walks, some right from the doorstep, taking you through stunning local scenery, including Top Withins which is reputedly the setting for Wuthering Heights.
Haworth, famed for its Brontë connections, is just 2 miles away. Steeped in literary history, the pretty village has a steep, cobbled Main Street and has much to offer from independent shops, cafés, pubs, galleries, and the Brontë Parsonage Museum.
Hoot Cottage is just 20 minutes away from the market town of Hebden Bridge, and Skipton, with its market and medieval castle, is just 25 minutes away. It is also ideally located for access to three national parks with the Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, around 30 minutes’ drive away. The Peak District can also be reached in just over an hour, as can the city of York, Ilkey and Harrogate.
