Completely renovated in 2019 by the friendly owners who live next door, the property has a hillside location meaning you are greeted with the most magnificent countryside views as soon as you step through the front door.
Although the setting is rural, ample amenities are within a 10-minute walk including a good food serving pub, the most wonderful delicatessen, a garden centre with restaurant, and a newsagents. Located just south of Huddersfield, you are surrounded by beautiful Pennine countryside and can take a unique journey through it on the Kirklees light railway, which runs from Shelley to Clayton West.
Other attractions include the National Mining Museum and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, both of which are around a 10-minute drive away. A half hour drive will take you to the National Trust’s Nostell Priory, the Royal Armories in Leeds, Shibden Park, and Oakwell Hall and Country Park. To the north you have the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and to the south the Peak District National Park. The fabulous town of Holmfirth, better known as the backdrop to ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ can be reached in around 15 minutes, and Huddersfield in around 20 minutes. Britain’s highest beach at Gaddings Dam is around an hour’s drive away, and for those lucky enough to stay here during the New Year an absolute must is the Shelley Welly Walk on New Year’s Day.
