The landscaped gardens of the National Trust’s Nostell Priory are a mere 5-minute drive, as is the stunning open space and woodland trails of Anglers Country Park. Hemsworth Water Park is around a 10-minute drive and home to two well-stocked fishing lakes as well a man-made sandy beach. There is also Wentworth Castle, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Cannon Hall, of which all can be reached in just half an hour.
