Rosy Mantle is a delightful semi-detached cottage set in the village of Spofforth just 6 miles from Harrogate. Built in the 1850s, the cottage has been renovated in 2019 to a very good standard and has a contemporary feel without losing the traditional cottage features. The large living/dining room has bi-folding doors leading out to the enclosed garden and seating area.
The historical village of Spofforth is just a short stroll from the cottage, which was in the hands of the Percy family right up until the 17th century. They built a manor house and castle, the ruins of which still stand today. The village has a shop, a couple of village pubs and the All Saints Church in the centre of the village. Rosy Mantle is a great base to visit the Yorkshire Dales and the wonderful sights of Harrogate and Leeds. The victorian town of Harrogate, with its spa and Turkish baths, is also home to many shows and attractions. The highlight of the year is the Great Yorkshire Show, the largest agricultural show in the UK, an iconic three day event. Another famous attraction of Harrogate is Betty’s tearooms. Enjoy a tasty afternoon tea then a stroll around the beautiful gardens that the townsfolk are so proud of or have a wander along The Stray, over 200 acres of parkland that surround the town. Fishing is available just 1 mile away . Shop and pub/restaurant 400 yards.
