Situated on a quiet residential no-through road leading down to the main entrance of Rowntree Park, this incredible 1890’s stone-built Victorian terrace is ideal for families and friends wanting that special house in a fantastic location for your unique holiday. The property fuses eclectic style with a modern contemporary feel with no expense spared by the owners. This has to be a ’one off’ property in the centre of York. There are not many houses that sleep six guests in three bedrooms that have so much space for everyone.
The property is a substantial terraced house built in the Victorian style that still retains some lovely original features mixed with modern appliances. The hallway has a Victorian tiled floor flowing through with the living room on your left which is complete with an open fire, comfortable sofas and a large Smart TV giving a great place to snuggle up in front of the fire on those colder evenings with a glass or two of red wine. The spacious kitchen/dining room is a fabulous room for entertaining with a stripped grey wooden floor, wood burner and is complete with French doors leading out to the decked seating area with overhead outdoor dining lights. The designer kitchen features a wine cooler, dishwasher and coffee machine along with all the usual mod cons and is fully equipped for all your culinary needs should you not wish to eat at the many eateries close by. All three bedrooms have luxury bed linen with coloured dorm style beds guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep, meaning you are fully energised for the next day’s adventure. On the first floor is a beautiful bathroom complete with a roll top bath should you wish to have a long soak, a wonderful large walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Locations don’t get much more perfect than Richardson Street.
Set just off ‘Bishy Road’ which has been given the title of ’The Notting Hill of the North’, you have instant access to some of the best independent cafés, pubs, bistros and shops in York. Rowntree Park is situated at the end of Richardson Street and offers families two large playgrounds, tennis courts, a skate park, café, lake and beautiful gardens making it a perfect place to relax and play. Within a 10-minute walk of York centre there are so many attractions such as the York racecourse to see you may have to book another few days to fit it all in. The iconic Minster, Railway Museum and Clifford’s Tower; admire the beautiful architecture at the Merchant Adventurers Hall, step back in time at the Jorvik Centre and the Castle Museum. Stroll along the cobbles down the world-famous Shambles or take one of the terrifying night-time ghost walks which are a must.
