Pear Tree Cottage

Pear Tree Cottage is a fantastic period property which offers a comfortable stay within the charming little village of Wombleton, located between the picturesque market towns of Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside. The cottage offers accommodation for up to ten guests making this Yorkshire holiday home ideal for reunions, multi-family holidays or large groups. It is a characterful and spacious cottage with a farmhouse style kitchen which presents an Aga and is well equipped for food preparation should you not wish to dine out at the many eateries close by. There is also a wonderful dining room which is great for socialising around the table or enjoying a home cooked meal. On the same floor is the large living room which is equipped with a Sky TV including sports and movies and a wonderful open fire for additional heating and character. Outside the cottage there is a large private landscaped garden which can be viewed from the sunroom presenting additional seating giving a great place to kick back and have a drink al fresco style in the summer months. The bedrooms are located across the first floor, and all offer plush bedding guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep. In addition, two of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities with a family bathroom also on the first floor.
Helmsley is the closest town which is 4 miles down the road meaning you have quick access to the local pubs, cafés, restaurants, shops, and Helmsley Brewery. Wombleton also has a local inn which serves great Yorkshire ales and mouth-watering food, it also has a lovely little beer garden. The stunning North York Moors National Park is on your doorstep and is full of bike trails and fantastic, scenic walks, including the very popular Rievaulx Abbey. Other nearby towns and cities include Malton, Pickering, Thirsk, and York. A visit to this area would not be complete without a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, some of the stations along the Pickering to Whitby route have featured in the Harry Potter films. If you fancied a day at the beach the heritage coastal towns of Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hoods Bay are approximately a 50-minute drive.
