Set over three floors this is a spacious property, perfect for friends or family looking to stay in the heart of Scarborough. The house is in an elevated position, from the front patio as you arrive you have great views enticing you down to the bay. Stepping inside, the living room is at the front with two sofas as well as two armchairs so that you can all unwind together whilst enjoying the view through the large bay window towards the South bay. The dining room is separate, in this large room each meal can be an enjoyable social event where you all gather together, planning the events for the days ahead whilst enjoying views towards the castle. The kitchen is well equipped, perfect for longer stays as well as short breaks, in this room you also have the sea views, and you can step out onto the back enclosed patio with an outdoor seating area.
Up on the first floor you have two double bedrooms, one with castle and sea views as well as a single bedroom which has a sink, handy for brushing teeth and getting freshened up in the morning. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and a shower as well as a separate toilet. Up on the second floor you have the best views in the house, with a master double bedroom with its own en-suite shower as well as a twin room with zip and link beds which can be made up as a super king on request, and a single bedroom. The views up here are spectacular, the panorama stretches along the coastline, and is simply mesmerising.
In Scarborough you have two beaches; this house is beside the lively South Bay, or you can follow the promenade to the quieter North Bay which is only around a 10-minute walk away. The two bays have lovely, large sandy beaches making them perfect for your family holiday. Between the bays you have Scarborough Castle perched on the headland. There’s lots to see and do nearby, from the north bay you can walk to the Sea Life Centre. Peasholm Park is wonderful to discover, you can hire pedalos and rowing boats to go around the lake and see the stunning oriental gardens.
Scarborough is famous for its theatres. There is an outdoor theatre which stages concerts by some of music’s big names, and then there is the Stephen Joseph Theatre which is famous for the premieres of Alan Ayckbourn’s plays. The Alpamare waterpark is great for all ages, with its fantastic wave pool and waterslides, as well as a large heated outdoor infinity pool. Keep younger children entertained with the ’splash and play’ area. For adults there is a spa where you can relax and be pampered. The heated outdoor pools are warm enough to enjoy through all the seasons. Further along the coast you have Filey, Flamborough, Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby to discover, all fabulous for days out. For nature lovers you have the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs, the North Yorkshire Moors National Park as well as the wonderful Dalby Forest, which is laced with walking and cycle trails. This is a wonderful destination to explore all year round.
