Owl Lodge is a traditional lodge located on a holiday park just outside the village of Amotherby near the market town of Malton. Situated on the edge of the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with York and the North York Moors National Park on your doorstep.
Refurbished in 2019, the lodge has been finished to a good standard with a shabby chic charm. Upon entering you will find a superb open plan living space with small kitchen and dining areas opposite. The seating surrounds a gas-effect coal fire, with views over the decking to the private hot tub. Two double bedrooms and one bunk bedroom provide the perfect space in which to relax and unwind. All three rooms share the main shower room. Outside the decking is to the rear of the lodge and overlooks a wooded area. The hot tub is nestled into the corner of the decking and there is seating for you to enjoy the afternoon sun.
The quiet village of Amotherby is just down the road with the local pub serving some great ales and Cantonese food. The bustling market town of Malton is a short drive away and offers a plethora of independent shops, cafés, delis and restaurants. Famed as the food capital of North Yorkshire, its regular food markets are not to be missed. The magnificent stately home Castle Howard is only four miles away and is where Brideshead Revisited was filmed. A day wandering around the gardens, exploring the house or walking the many footpaths that criss-cross the estate should feature on your holiday itinerary. If you are visiting during the festive season, the Christmas experience is award winning. Owl Lodge is surrounded by some of Yorkshire’s most stunning countryside and is ideal for cyclists and walkers alike. The historic city of York is short drives away and slightly further afield are the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Whitby.
