Once a traditional fisherman’s house, this property welcomes guests to an exceptional stay by the coast. The modern kitchen/dining room is perfect for creating your favourite meals, perhaps using some of the freshly caught local seafood for a dinner to remember, and the wood burner in the living room ensures cosy and atmospheric nights in. Boasting sea views, the three bedrooms are on the first floor, together with a family bathroom. Outside is an enclosed garden, ideal for al fresco meals, or simply soaking up the sunshine with a morning cup of tea, before a busy day exploring. Dog lovers will find great walks nearby and many of the cafés and bars in Scarborough are dog friendly and only some parts of the beaches have restrictions from May-September. There area also scenic trails in the surrounding North York Moors National Park and Dalby Forest.
This location is ideal for families as well as couples looking for a break away with plenty to see and to. There is a choice of two bays to explore; the house overlooks South Bay which is a 10-minute walk away. It has all the hustle and bustle of a traditional seaside resort, with donkeys, amusements, and pleasure steamers, including the famous pirate ship as well as a surf school where you can hire surf boards and paddle boards, as well as having lessons. North Bay is much quieter and is about a 15-minute walk away; it has a long promenade to stroll along with the Sealife Centre at the end. At low tide a long golden stretch of beach appears. Scarborough also has a 12th-century castle between the two bays, with many events around the year. The town of Scarborough has much to offer in the form of the Rotunda Museum, an art gallery, the famous Scarborough Spa, Peasholm Park, Alpamare water park and spa, as well as one of the largest open-air theatres in Europe, all within walking distance. Further down the coast are the neighbouring coastal destinations of Bridlington, Filey, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Flamborough and Bempton to discover, or inland you have the wonderful North York Moors to explore, with moorland and ancient woodlands and miles of walking and cycling trails.
This charming property has been through a lot of changes. Bombed during WWII, it was rebuilt, and for many years was the home of a local fisherman. His family are now the proud owners and are delighted to share their gorgeous home town and characterful house with you. This is the perfect choice for those looking for an authentic break away.
