Seagull Cottage is set down a quiet side street just a few hundred yards from the beach in the seaside town of Bridlington in the East Riding of Yorkshire. This charming and spacious semi-detached, period Victorian cottage ‘Villa’ is ideal for a large family or group of friends to enjoy a seaside holiday. This property has been tastefully decorated throughout with quality furnishings and has a real welcoming feel. Enter the hallway which retains the original stained glass to the front window and still in in situ ornate encaustic black and white tiled floor. To the front of the property is the dining room which offers an electric log effect fire and a large, sashed bay window. The table provides plenty of seating for seven.
To the rear of the cottage, you will find the large open plan living room/kitchen. Flooded with natural light from French doors and with a wood burning stove this room will be the heart of your family holiday. The kitchen is sleek and modern and offers a host of appliances including a gas hob and electric oven. There is a washing machine for your sandy towels and a dishwasher should you wish to dine in. A plush L shaped sofa surround the wood burner, ideal for the cooler winter months.
To the first floor are three bedrooms; a single room with TV, a king-size zip and link double, room and a super king-size zip and link double. All three rooms have deep filled mattresses and have been furnished with guest comfort in mind. In-between the bedrooms are the house shower room which offers a bath with shower over.
The attic has been converted to an additional bedroom which has a further super king-size zip and link double. With a sloping ceiling and Velux window this room is packed with character. From the open plan living space throw open the French doors to find the rear patio which is a real sun trap during the summer months.
Here you will find the added luxury of a private hot tub. While away a few hours surrounded by warm bubbling water. The seating area is the ideal place for an early morning cup of coffee or a place to gather on an evening and enjoy an al fresco evening meal. You will also find a games/bar room with traditional bar games to one side as well as an additional toilet.
Seagull Cottage is centrally located within Bridlington and accessing the many eateries from here is easy. The dog friendly beaches and promenade are just a few minutes’ walk away. For a little culture enjoy an evening at Bridlington Spa or for those that enjoy golf there are two great courses just a short drive away. Bridlington offers a plethora of restaurants, shops, tea rooms and pubs. A visit here would not be complete without taking in the historic beauty of Sewerby Hall and Gardens, Sledmere House or Burton Agnes Hall.
The rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds are but a short drive away and offer miles of walking and cycling opportunities. A cliff top walk at Flamborough will blow the cobwebs away and a morning must be spent at RSPB Bempton Cliffs. A little further inland is the historic city of York.
