This beautifully presented cottage has been renovated and extended to welcome you on a joyful stay by the coast. Stepping inside you are welcomed into the living room, with comfortable seating on the leather armchairs and sofa which face the feature gas fire, which fills the house with heat as well as an atmospheric warm glow through the winter months. Step through to the kitchen, which is open plan with the dining area, you are bathed in light from the large glass roof lantern which is directly over the dining table. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, with everything you could wish for to create your favourite meals from scratch. For a special treat use fresh local seafood, if your adventurous you could even catch it yourself on a boat trip out the harbour.
Upstairs you have two bedrooms, the master kingsize bedroom as well as the second room which has a single day bed with a trundle underneath which can be made up as a twin on request. There is a generous sized bathroom with both a spa bath under a Velux window as well as a cubicle shower. The property is situated within a short stroll down from both the north and south bays as well as the town centre where you will find some excellent bars, restaurants, cafés and shops. Scarborough boasts two beaches, the North Bay and the South Bay, separated by the castle perched on the headland. The Marine Drive runs all the way along both the bays, making it a great place for a long leisurely walk along the seafront. The North Bay is the quieter of the two, whereas the South Bay has the traditional seaside amusements and fun fair.
In Scarborough you have many attractions including a popular waterpark with a fun splash pool and wave machine as well as an Alpine themed Spa. There is the wonderful Peasholm Park, one of the main attractions of Scarborough, with beautiful oriental gardens and a boating lake. You can hire rowing boats or pedalos. Opposite there is the open-air theatre which hosts live concerts and events. At the North Bay you have the Sea Life Centre where they have a seal sanctuary. Scarborough is a great base from which to visit the rest of the east coast, with Whitby, Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay to the north, and Bridlington and Filey with its fabulous beach to the south. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is a short drive where you can view all the migrating seabirds especially the ever-popular puffins. The medieval city of York is just an hour’s drive by car, or you can hop onto the train. York is voted every year as one of the top ten cities to visit in the UK, filled with attractions and beautiful historic buildings.
