Whitby Harbour View is situated in a great location in the desirable coastal town of Whitby, which is abundant with history, attractions, culture and a proud seafaring heritage. Lovingly furnished to a high standard, this property is perfect for families or for two couples holidaying together in a peaceful and tranquil setting. There’s a spacious living room, inviting you to relax and unwind whilst enjoying quality time with your loved ones. The heart of the home is the kitchen where you can create lovingly hand-cooked meals together on the Aga. Tucked away in a peaceful cul-de-sac, with the view of Whitby’s harbour over-looked by the iconic abbey to be enjoyed from the windows. This delightful holiday home is sure to be somewhere you will wish to return to again and again.
Walking down Whitby’s cobbled streets past the independent shops and cafés is like stepping back in time. Up on the east cliff you have the abbey and church, where Vikings battled and monks toiled. Nearby in the cemetery is where Bram Stoker’s Dracula is said to have waited, watching over the town for his next victim. The famous novel has inspired Whitby’s annual goth events, which draw in visitors from around the world, and you can discover more about the story at the “Dracula Experience” attraction in the town centre.
Across on the opposite west cliff is where you will find the Captain Cook monument overlooking the many boats sailing out of the harbour. Below the cliff lies the glorious golden beach stretching all the way to the appropriately named Sandsend.
Whitby is surrounded by the stunning North York Moors National Park. Ride the steam train as it puffs its way through the scenic villages of Grosmont and Goathland. Explore the rockpools at Robin Hood’s Bay or Runswick Bay, or for the adventurous, learn to surf the waves at the surfing schools at Whitby, Sandsend or Saltburn. After a day of discovery, there’s nothing like returning to a warm welcoming cottage, where you can stretch out on the deep, cosy sofas with a good movie, or even treat yourself with a candle-lit soak in the whirlpool bath.
