The town offers quirky shops and culture, and even an arts festival, Hebden Bridge is a popular all year-round destination. Visitor attractions include the National Trust’s woodland, Hardcastle Crags, the beautiful and ancient Heptonstall Village, and breath-taking moorland walks. Haworth Village, home of the Brontës, is 20 minutes’ drive away, and the Piece Hall, ‘The Covent Garden of The North’ is in the nearby town of Halifax. Shibden Hall, home of Anne Lister, is in nearby Halifax. There’s an independent cinema in Hebden Bridge, a range of dining experiences, galleries, and public houses. There are also several local pubs within a mile of the cottage.
Entering the cottage, you are greeted by a well-stocked country kitchen, which has a distinctly ‘cottage-core’ feel. Overlooking the canal, the traditional country kitchen oozes charm, with a small wood burner, farmhouse table, dresser, and range cooker. The perfect location to cook, relax and unwind in. A dishwasher is tucked away in the pantry. A range of modern cutlery and crockery complements vintage items all guests are free to use. Wander through to the cosy, beamed living room, which is furnished with antique and vintage finds, a television, a well-stocked bookcase, and a good selection of games.
Upstairs you are greeted by a large bedroom overlooking the canal, a twin bedroom with views out to Scout Rock and a single bedroom overlooking the canal. There is one bathroom with bath, sink, toilet, and electric shower. The cottage is in a semi-rural area. There is an abundance of wildlife, including geese, foxes, and the occasional owl – you may hear the occasional barking of a nearby fox or the honking of geese flying overhead.
