You will enter through the main door into the ground floor, where you will find the well-equipped kitchen, which provides all the essentials for cooking up a storm, whether it be a hearty breakfast or a delicious dinner, with access to a small balcony giving an amazing view of the river and village church. Descend the spiral staircase to the living/dining room, with its comfortable seating and wood burner, it’s the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the stunning surrounding countryside. Take in the breath-taking views of the River Sett from the patio accessed through the French doors from the living room, the perfect place to enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Overlooking the river on the opposite bank is St Matthew’s Church, with its imposing clock tower. There is a staircase to the top floor where the two bedrooms are a real treat, each with its own unique character. The first bedroom features a comfortable double bed and overlooks the river, while the second is also a cosy double with soft bedding and a view of the village. Both rooms provide the perfect place to rest and recharge.

Take a scenic hike through the rolling hills or go rock climbing on the famous Stanage Edge. Highly recommended are the walks around Kinder Reservoir, or even trekking the heights of Kinder Scout, all accessed directly from the cottage with no need to drive. If you are feeling even more adventurous, try the short drive to the caverns in picturesque Castleton, or the cable car at the ‘Heights of Abraham’. There is so much to do.
The cottage is conveniently located, making it easy to explore the surrounding area by car. With Manchester just a short drive away, you can experience the hustle and bustle of a city, before returning to the peace and tranquillity of your rural retreat.
