Corner Cottage can be found in the popular Peak District village of Stoney Middleton, in the heart of the Peak District National Park.
A corner terraced cottage set out over four floors, it’s wonderfully unique and jam packed full of character. As you enter on the lower ground floor into the farmhouse style kitchen, you’ll be greeted immediately by period features such as exposed stone and a beamed ceiling, which have been combined with the modern-day luxury of underfloor heating. On the next floor you’ll find a cosy living room with a multi-fuel burner taking pride of place in the gritstone fire surround and then up again to the lovely bright and airy bedroom on the first floor. Finally, on the 4th floor is a luxury bathroom with a shower and separate bath just perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the great outdoors.
Across the road from Corner Cottage quite conveniently is a traditional food serving country pub, which welcomes walkers and visitors with or without their four-legged friends. Take a 2-minute walk to the award-winning fish and chip shop and a few minutes further is an Indian restaurant and take-away.
Take a short drive to the village Eyam, full of history and delightful tea rooms. Both Bakewell and Chatsworth House can be reached in around a 15-minute drive, as can Tideswell and Hathersage which is home to seasonal outdoor swimming baths. Spectacular Derbyshire scenery surrounds the area with Middleton Dale and the fantastic Curbar and Froggatt Edge very close by.
Stoney Middleton provides wonderful rock climbing, cycling and walks, including the medieval packhorse track known locally as Jacobs Ladder. Just outside the village is Coombs Dale, a beautiful limestone valley, now designated a Special Area of Conservation and above the village lies Eyam Moor, a fine area for walking, with fantastic views across the Derwent Valley.
