Tom’s Lodge is located in Kniveton, a village on the outskirts of Ashbourne which is a town hosting great shops, restaurants, cafés and bars. Directly from the house are an abundance of walks and cycle routes with the advantage of Carsington Water being a 5-minute drive which makes a great day out for a walk, cycle or water sports activity. Many people also choose this location due to its proximity to Alton Towers theme park yet it gives you the countryside retreat to come home to. Within the village there is a wonderful, family run pub is less than a 2-minute walk from the property and is one of the best pubs known in the area.
The cottage itself has bedrooms, one kingsize and one twin, with a toilet on the first floor. On the ground floor is the kitchen which has electric hob and oven, washing machine and microwave, please note there is not a dishwasher with this cottage. Step into the hall where the family bathroom is located with shower over bath. In the living room there is comfortable seating with a warming wood burner and dining area with table and chairs to seat all guests.
Opposite the property across a very quiet lane is the garden which has a wooden bench and table with chairs, there are beautiful flower beds all around creating some privacy for the guests. The parking space is located in between the garage and garden, there is a small space located in front of the garage where you can fit a small car, otherwise there is ample roadside parking on the lane further down. Although guests are not permitted to use the garage, should you need to store bikes please get in touch and we can arrange this access with the property owner.
