Wits End Cottage is a romantic holiday home located within the incredibly popular Peak District village of Baslow, which is on the outskirts of Bakewell and within walking distance of historic Chatsworth House.
The accommodation has been finished to an exceptional standard; as you walk into the cottage you are greeted by a cosy living room with an open fire, comfortable seating and a TV. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook a fantastic holiday feast, and there is also a dining booth where you can enjoy a full English breakfast before you head out for the day. Upstairs is the master kingsize bedroom, as well as a small double bedroom; both bedrooms have high quality mattresses and linen, and storage for your clothes. There is also a shower room with walk-in shower that uses a digital control so you can warm the shower before hopping in. Outside is a quaint courtyard with garden furniture and lighting, a lovely place to sit on a spring day where you can sit and enjoy a coffee whilst planning your exciting day ahead, or possibly enjoy a glass of wine after a fun filled day before you head to one of the local eateries. The cottage comes with one parking space located directly behind the house for convenience, there is further parking available on the street just a couple of metres from the cottage. This is the perfect base for you to explore the Peaks and all it has to offer. From your doorstep you are spoilt with great walking routes, a large variety of pubs and restaurants that cater to all budgets and a local shop for any last minute bits of shopping. Wits End Cottage is a short drive from Bakewell, home of the famous Bakewell pPudding and tart; you can take stroll down the river and over the padlock bridge to have a look around the shops and cafés. Further towns to explore are Matlock, which has an array of coffee shops and a lovely local park, and Buxton which has the opera house with weekly shows. The Pavilion Gardens are adjacent, and in 2021, a fabulous 5* spa opened within the town which has reviews that rave about it. You can also visit Castleton where you will find the Blue John Caverns and learn abouit their history in a boat trip through the caves for something a little different. There are also some good pubs to try.
