The Gatehouse Barn
The barn has been designed as a cosy studio-style bolthole for 2 with all the mod cons you could ask for. The unique design allows you to have your bedroom within the large lounge area alongside tastefully chosen furniture and interior design. The barn enjoys a well-equipped kitchen with a large bathroom with Jacuzzi bath to enjoy after a long day exploring. Outside is a pretty courtyard area to sit and enjoy a morning coffee or glass of something refreshing whilst the sun goes down.
The Gatehouse Barn is situated overlooking the beautiful Derwent valley. The farm is a haven for wildlife including badgers and rare black fallow deer. It even boasts 60 species of birds such as nuthatch, dippers and peregrine falcons. Located 7 miles south of the historic market town of Bakewell and 3 miles west of Matlock, you are ideally situated to access the diverse array of local attractions. The limestone way passes close by the farm which is also the junction to no less than 4 major footpaths throughout the area. The mystical Stanton Moor with its ancient Nine Ladies stone circle is with walking distance and a little further the River Lathkill has wonderful walks. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are close by as is Matlock Bath which boasts children’s attractions and a cable car ride to the Heights of Abraham. The pretty village of Birchover has 2 fabulous pubs serving food so you will never be short of places to visit or eat!
