This wonderful circa 17th Century thatched cottage is located next to the friendly owners’ home in the historic village of Diseworth, close to East Midlands Airport and just 2 miles from Donington Park Circuit. The city centres of both Nottingham, Derby and Leicester are only a 20-minute drive away - you cannot get a better location.
The property is wonderfully cosy and benefits from parking and its own private outside space with summer garden furniture. Thoughtfully decorated throughout you will find the living/dining room with an open fire. The spiral staircase leads to two large bedrooms and a shower room on the first floor. Guests can also enjoy use of the owners’ lovingly landscaped gardens, barbecue area and a summerhouse.
Close by is the National Trust Calke Abbey, a historic house within a 600-acre nature reserve, along with Staunton Harold Reservoir, with its yacht club and children’s activity play area. Why not take a trip to the largest inland marina in Europe at Willington Mercia House? Or Donington Park Circuit, which houses the Grand Prix Collection in the museum and hosts major motor cycling and racing events, as well as the yearly Download Festival. Conveniently situated on the edge of The National Forest, you are given access to a wealth of beautiful countryside suitable for walking, bird watching and cycling. Travel a little further and you are in the Peak District, with Chatsworth House and the historic towns of Bakewell, Matlock and Matlock Bath, where there is a plethora of things for people of all ages to enjoy.
