This beautiful mid-terraced cottage is full of character, has many original features, and a cosy wood-burning stove. A perfect retreat for couples and families in the lake District National Park, offering easy access to Keswick and Cockermouth. Guests will love the stylish décor and thought which has gone into the interior design. It has had a brand-new quality kitchen in 2022 and is very well equipped for your self-catering break. You will find Station Cottage in the quiet village of Embleton, between Basenthwaite and Cockermouth. With walks from the door and a village pub, it is a great base from which to explore.

The ground floor features an open plan living area and dining room with plenty of easy seating and Freesat TV and Netflix, perfect for movie night in front of the fire after a day of adventure. The kitchen features a range cooker, dishwasher and washing machine, at the back you have a small yard and a spacious off-set garden with lawn, patio and garden furniture; It’s ideal for dining al fresco and enjoying the peaceful garden and greenery at the rear. It is a great sun trap and ideal for a cold beer or a glass of wine while soaking up the sunshine.

The location is great, you have a village pub nearby offering local ales and excellent food. If you like walking, hiking, or cycling, you are never too far away from your next adventure. There is good access to plenty of routes nearby as well as more challenging fells including Skiddaw, Cat bells, Lat Rigg and Blencathra to name a few. The popular town of Cockermouth with a wide range of eateries, pubs, cafés and independent shops is just 3 miles away and is the birthplace of William Wordsworth. Just 4 miles away is Basenthwaite with The Lake District Wildlife Park with over 100 species of wild animals. You can take an alpaca for a walk at Apically Ever After or take a trip to The Lakes Distillery, offering tasting tours and are producers of fine whisky, gin, and vodka, always a hit. The cottage is just 10 miles from Keswick on the shores of Derwent water, with an abundance of dining and shopping experiences. The Pencil Museum is home to the world’s largest pencil, and The Theatre by the Lake offers award winning arts and drama, and the mind-boggling world of The Puzzling Place is fun for all ages.
The famous and only Lake in the lake District, Basenthwaite Lake is 10 Minutes by car and there is lovely walk by the lakeside if you wish.
