Within 0. 8 miles of the cottage there is a beautiful sandy beach that is great for exercising your pets and taking a breath of fresh air. You can bring your dogs and there are a lot of good walks nearby.
There are many pubs and restaurants in St Bees centre, and you can leave the car behind and take the train to many nearby towns. In less than 200 yards, you’ll find St Bees station, several pubs, restaurants, and a convenience store. In just a few minutes, you can walk to the historic St Bees priory which dates back to the 11th century. In addition to walking, biking, and climbing in some of the most beautiful scenery in England, you are just 10 miles from The Lake District National Park. Your nearest lake is Ennerdale, one of the most unspoiled parts of The Lake District where you may spot buzzards, red squirrels or ospreys. To reach Scafell Pike’s summit, you can reach Wasdale Head in just 18 miles, which is the shortest route. Consider taking the miniature steam railway along the South West Coast, the La’al Ratty. There is also a challenging 9-hole links course at St Bees.
