This fabulous property with large lawned gardens and amazing views is perfect for a family holiday or a couple’s getaway. Stonecross View offers a peaceful base for your next Cumbrian adventure close to Cockermouth and The North Lakes it has an excellent pub just a 2-minute walk away. This spacious, detached property provides a fantastic base to explore Northern Cumbria. All rooms are on the ground floor, so it’s great if you have young children or guests who are less mobile in your party. You’ll find a cosy living room with a Smart TV, easy seating and a wood burning stove, a large, well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare a hearty breakfast including a dishwasher and coffee machine. The dining room is perfect for a family feast after a day of exploring. Sleeping up to six guests, Stonecross View offers two good sized double bedrooms and a smaller room with bunk beds which makes a perfect kid’s den. All bedrooms are well furnished with comfortable beds and plenty of hanging and storage space. The utility has a washing machine and tumble dryer and an additional toilet. The main bathroom features a bath, shower, and Heated towel rail. Attached to the house is a spacious garage, perfect if you have bikes or canoes. Outside you’ll find plenty of room for the little ones to run around and have a kickabout on the lawn as well as garden furniture and seating to enjoy the sun with a chilled glass of wine.
You’re just on the fringe of The Lake District National Park and only a few miles from The West Cumbrian Coast so you have the best of both worlds. Pets are welcome, so feel free to bring them along too. Overall, Stonecross View is the perfect base for some family fun, quality time together and ideally located to explore with beautiful part of The Lake District. Nearby Cockermouth is only 2. 5 miles away and offers an abundance of speciality shops, coffee houses, restaurants, and attractions. Visit Wordsworth House for a spot of culture, or maybe Jennings Brewery beneath the castle walls, offering tasting tours. Kirkgate Arts provides a cinema and theatre performances. If you love The Lakes, you’re in easy reach of Bassenthwaite Lake with stunning scenery and an abundance of wildlife including red squirrels, buzzards and osprey to the East. Or drive South and you’ll reach Loweswater which connecting to Crummock Water and Buttermere is arguably one of the most picturesque areas of Cumbria for breath-taking scenery. Whether you’re looking for rugged adventure or just a peaceful walk taking in the flora and fauna, you have a beautiful area to explore. If you’re looking for family fun a great day out can be had at The Lake District Wildlife Park with over 100 species of animals at Bassenthwaite. Or you could try Go Ape, a tree top adventure at Whinlatter Forest, also home to some brilliant cycling trails. Keswick is just a 25-minute drive along the A66 and you’ve also got some excellent coastal areas to explore. St Bees, an area off outstanding natural beauty with sandy beach and cliffside walks is 30 minutes’ drive and is also one end of the famous coast to coast walk. To the West, you’ll reach Allonby in 20 minutes with long stretches of beach, rugged coastline and great for a dogwalkers and a lovely coastal cycle ride too.
