The Swallow’s Nest is a cosy yet comfortable ground floor apartment set within a beautiful barn conversion, and is ideal for couples or a young family looking for a memorable stay in an area that has plenty to offer. Retaining many original features such as exposed beams and stone work, you will soon relax in this quiet countryside retreat.
Enter into the living room, with pleasant decor and comfy sofas, a small dining area with fold-leaf table, and walk through the hallway to a compact yet well-equipped kitchen. Further down the hallway are two bedrooms, a double bedroom and one with an adult sized bunk bed. There is also a family shower room.
Underfloor heating warms the accommodation throughout. Outside is a small seating area is to the front overlooking the pleasant and well-kept courtyard.
Croftlands Court was once a former coach house and stable block, and now contains four apartments and one cottage. Subject to availability, it is possible to use the on-site tea room for larger groups as a dining area. Set on a working farm with a prize winning herd of pedigree Jersey cows, the owners will be happy to show you around, and there’s the chance to meet the curious calves, flock of hens, ducks, rabbits and Kerry the little white terrier as well as the farm cat too.
Perfectly situated to take advantage of what the local area has to offer, the Lake District National Park is a very scenic 15 miles away, or head to the coast and enjoy the Victorian town of Silloth with unspoilt views of the Solway Coasts and across to the Scottish hills. Head back to the farm just in time to enjoy a pot of tea and home-made cake at the on-site ‘Cups and Saucers’ tea room, open March through to October. With coast, countryside, lakes and hills there is something for everyone, whatever the weather. Beach 4¼ miles. Shop 4¼ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
