The Old School House
At The Old School House, you get all the space you need to have a special reunion with family or friends. Set in a rural location, there is all the privacy you could want, and with the property being so close to the Solway Coast or Lake District National Park, there will be a whole host of activities to suit all.
This is an imposing, detached family house, forming part of the estate belonging to the grounds of Blaithwaite House, and a wealth of activities are available by direct arrangement with the owners . These include clay pigeon shooting, archery, laser tag, mountainboarding, mini golf, climbing, relaxing guided walks and craft workshops. The woodland is made up of rare specialist trees and fascinating wetlands, which you can explore for hours in peace.
The spacious accommodation is set over two floors, and has a large family living room with ample comfy seating. There is a delightful snug with a wood burner, which you can sit in front of and read a good book, or you can make use of the feature games room, which has a snooker table. There is a double bedroom and a family shower room also situated on the ground floor. A further six bedrooms and family bathroom are located on the first floor. Outside, ample parking space can be found adjacent to the property, along with a large, enclosed garden and secluded patio area. There is an annex on site which the owners live in.
Should you wish to explore further afield, the popular Lake District market town of Keswick is just a short drive away. Visit historic Carlisle, with its Roman history and castle, or head to the coast, where you will find the Solway Estuary, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its abundance of wildlife. Beach 9 miles. Shop and pub 4½ miles, restaurant 2¾ miles. The Old School House can be be booked together with The Old School House Studio to accommodate up to 18 guests.
