With amazing views over the river, Teign View Lodge is a cosy, bespoke property, open plan to maximise space and decorated and furnished to a good standard. The bedroom has limited headroom with sloping ceilings on either side of the bed. This is the perfect spot for walkers, birdwatchers and cyclists, or just to get away from it all. The property is situated in a quiet residential area with a small courtyard area with table and chairs, perfect for al-fresco dining. Bishopsteignton is a large village, on the banks of the Teign Estuary. The River Teign is about 30 miles long from where it rises on Dartmoor, near Cranmere Pool, west of Chagford, and reaching the sea at Teignmouth, on the south Devon coast. There are many coastal and river walks well worth enjoying, as well as Dartmoor which is a short drive away. Teignmouth is about 2 miles away, and can be seen from the lodge. It has a classic crescent of Georgian buildings, promenade, pier and a long sandy beach. It is a real hidden gem on the south Devon coast and is both an historic port and classic seaside holiday resort. With traditional seaside attractions all around, you do not need to venture far to keep everyone entertained. There are two distinct sides to Teignmouth – the sea front and the harbour side. Then take a ferry across to Shaldon which is quieter, and has many cafés, restaurants and a sandy beach. There is a nature reserve at Labrador Bay and also a small zoo in Shaldon. There are many NT properties close by. A trip to Dartmoor is also a great day out, with its tors, ponies, vast expanse of moorland and little hidden villages where a Devon cream tea is all part of the holiday. Beach 2 miles. Shop 400 yards, pub 330 yards and restaurant 500 yards.
