Yr Encil is a detached house on the edge of New Quay in West Wales. It sleeps eight over four bedrooms. Two of those are doubles and both have a sea view. There are two bathrooms. One is a walk-in shower on the ground floor, the other has a bath with a shower over on the first floor.
It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped. You've got the dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is fully enclosed, which is handy. And you can bring up to two dogs. Parking is on site.
The house is set back a bit, so you look out over the harbour and the bay. The main bedroom has a big balcony. There's garden furniture and a BBQ out there, so you can sit and watch the boats.
New Quay itself is a five minute walk down the hill. It's a proper little seaside town. There's a small sandy beach at the harbour and another bigger beach around the headland. The high street has a few shops, places to eat, and a couple of pubs. You can book boat trips from the harbour to see if you can spot dolphins.
For walking, the Ceredigion Coastal Path runs right past. It's very good. Heading north gets you to Aberaeron, which is about seven miles. It's a pleasant Georgian harbour town, good for an ice cream. Heading south, you can walk to the National Trust's Llanerchaeron estate. That's a 19th-century house and working farm, about a 20 minute drive or a decent walk.
If you drive, Aberystwyth is about half an hour south. It's a university town with a long promenade, a castle, and the cliff railway. You can also get into the Cambrian Mountains from here, if you want proper hills.
