Cwmhyfryd is a barn we converted. It's up a farm track outside Cross Inn. The name means 'delightful valley' in Welsh, which fits.
It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Everyone gets their own bathroom, which saves arguments. It's got a five star rating, which means it's well finished and comfortable.
The living area is upstairs. We did that so you get the view. There are glass doors that open onto a balcony. You can sit out there with a drink in the morning or the evening. The garden is enclosed, so it's fine for kids or dogs. We take one well-behaved pet.
Cross Inn has a shop and a pub, both about three quarters of a mile away. They're handy.
The coast is close. New Quay is about ten minutes by car. It's a proper little harbour town with pubs, fish and chips, and a sandy beach. You can sometimes see dolphins from the shore. Cwmtydu beach is even nearer, maybe a five minute drive. It's a cove, good for a quiet swim. Seals have their pups there in the autumn.
The Ceredigion Coastal Path runs past. It's good walking, linking up all the beaches. Most of them are dog friendly all year.
Aberaeron is a twenty minute drive up the coast. It's a tidy Georgian harbour town, very colourful. Cardigan, with its castle, is about half an hour south. Aberystwyth is forty minutes north. They've got a long promenade and the cliff railway.
Inside, it's got what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them.
