Seadrift

This is Seadrift in New Quay. It's a terraced cottage right on the front, so you look straight out at the sea. The building is old, from about 1836. It sleeps five.

There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable but not luxurious. It’s got a wood burner for cooler evenings.

The layout is a bit unusual because it's built into the cliff. You go in on the middle floor where there's a bedroom and the bathroom. Then you go down some original stone stairs to the living room and kitchen. That's where the French doors are, leading out to a patio on two levels. You can sit out there and watch the water. We do get dolphins in the bay, fairly often.

Upstairs from the main entrance there are two more bedrooms. One double has a sea view.

You're a two-minute walk from the heart of New Quay. There are a few pubs, some good restaurants, and the usual chip shops. The harbour is right there. You can book dolphin spotting trips from the pier. Two of the three beaches allow dogs all year.

If you want to explore, the coastal path runs right past. Heading up the coast, Aberaeron is about ten minutes by car. It's a nice Georgian harbour town. For a longer day out, Aberystwyth is maybe forty minutes north.

In terms of what's here, you've got the wood burner, a washing machine, WiFi, and an enclosed patio area. Bedding and towels are included. We accept up to two well-behaved dogs.
