Ty Draenog

Ty Draenog is in Maen-y-groes, just outside New Quay in Ceredigion. It's a converted milking shed from the 1700s. We did it up in 2020, so everything's pretty new, but we kept a lot of the old stone and wood from the barn.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs. One has a super king bed, the other has twins that can be zipped together. One bathroom. The heating is underfloor downstairs, so it's warm underfoot.

You're on our small holding, so there's about five acres of land. The cottage has its own patio and there's an enclosed paddock right next to it with picnic benches. It's fully fenced, so it's good for dogs. We allow two.

For the coast, you don't need to drive. There's a footpath from the land that joins the Ceredigion Coastal Path. It's about a mile and a half walk down into New Quay itself. The harbour there is where you go for boat trips or to look for dolphins. The town has a few shops, pubs, and places to eat.

By car, Aberaeron is about ten minutes north. It's a nice little harbour town with coloured houses. Inland, you can get up into the Cambrian Mountains pretty quickly, or go see the Strata Florida Abbey ruins. It's about half an hour to get there.

Inside, it's got what you'd need: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. All the bedding and towels are included.
