Ty Arth

Ty Arth is a converted milking shed, just outside New Quay in Ceredigion. It’s on our smallholding, so you look out over fields. The building is old, but we finished the conversion in 2020 so everything inside is new. It’s got underfloor heating downstairs, which works well.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. One room has a super king bed. The other has twins that can be zipped together. The stairs are fine, but they are steep at the top, just so you know.

You’ve got a patio outside with furniture. There’s also a fenced-off bit of field right next to the cottage with picnic benches. It’s enclosed, so it’s good if you’ve got dogs. We allow two.

From the back of our land, you can get straight onto the coastal path. It’s about a twenty minute walk down that path into New Quay itself, to the harbour and the beaches. You’ll see red kites about the place. Sometimes dolphins show up in the bay.

New Quay has the usual pubs, shops, and places to eat. The Cardigan Bay Watersports Centre is there if you want to try something like paddleboarding. If you drive, Aberaeron is a nice harbour town about fifteen minutes south. Inland, you can get to the Strata Florida ruins or up into the Cambrian Mountains in under half an hour.

The cottage has a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There’s parking right outside.
