Y Bwthyn
Y Bwthyn is our cottage in Talgarreg. It's semi-detached, built from local stone. A plaque outside says the Welsh poet Dewi Emrys lived here once.
It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-looked after. It sleeps two adults, but there are technically two bedrooms. One is a double with an en-suite shower, and the other is a small twin room for children. We've put a bed guard and a night light in there.
The stairs are quite steep. They're original, like the beams and the stonework. There's a multi-fuel stove in the living room which keeps the place very warm. The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher and a coffee machine. The garden is enclosed and looks out over fields. There's a raised patio with a table.
The village pub is right opposite. They do food at the weekends. The nearest shop is about four and a half miles away in Llwyncelyn.
The coast is about a fifteen minute drive. New Quay is lovely, you can get boat trips to see dolphins from there. The beaches at Tresaith, Penbryn and Llangrannog are good. Aberaeron is nice for a walk around the harbour and they do good fish and chips.
Cardigan is about twenty minutes away, Aberystwyth is about forty. If you like walking, the coast path is easily reached. For a day out, Llanerchaeron is a National Trust property not too far away.
In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, WiFi, parking for one car, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
