Y Bwthyn

Y Bwthyn is a stone cottage in Talgarreg. It's semi-detached, part of a row of three. The plaque by the door is because a Welsh poet, Dewi Emrys, used to live here. It's got a 4 Star rating.

It sleeps three. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The main bedroom has a king-size bed and an ensuite shower. The second bedroom is small and has twin beds. It's really only suitable for children. The stairs are steep and there are stairgates at the top and bottom.

Inside, it's a low ceiling sort of place with stone walls and wooden beams. There's a multi-fuel stove in the living room. The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher. Both bedrooms have a TV. The garden is enclosed and looks out over fields. You can see red kites from the patio.

The village pub is about twelve steps from the front door. It's dog friendly. They serve food on Friday and Saturday nights. The nearest shop is in Felinfawr, about a ten minute drive.

New Quay is a 15 minute drive. You can get boat trips from there to see dolphins. The beaches around there are good: Llangrannog, Tresaith, Penbryn. Aberaeron is nice for a walk around the harbour. Cardigan and Aberystwyth are both about half an hour away by car.

For facilities: there's parking right outside, a washing machine, bed linen and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.

Useful links: Visit Wales West Coast and National Trust Wales. The Wildlife Trusts site has good information on the dolphins.
