Smithy Apartment

This is the Smithy Apartment, in Kelstedge. It's a first-floor flat above a pub. The pub's good, well used by locals. They've put soundproofing in, but you will hear some noise from below. It's a proper local, so it's not a quiet country retreat.

It sleeps six across two bedrooms. There's a double with its own shower room, and a twin room. There's another shower room too. The kitchen is what you'd call compact. It has an electric hob, a countertop oven, and a fridge. The living and dining area is all one open space.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for two cars. Bedding and towels are included. There’s WiFi and a TV.

The location is the main thing. You're right on the edge of the Peak District. You can walk out the door and be on a path. Chatsworth House is about a 20-minute drive. Bakewell is maybe 15 minutes. For walks, the Peak District National Park site has good maps. If you're interested in industrial history, the Derbyshire County Council pages list some local sites.

The pub downstairs serves food. There's a golf course nearby, and fishing if you have a licence.
