Smugglers Haunt is in Inner Hope. It's a terrace cottage, part of a little block called Anchor Cottages. You're about a hundred yards from the beach at Hope Cove. It's a safe, sandy beach, good for families.
The cottage sleeps seven. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable but not luxury. The living room is upstairs. Some people call that 'upside-down' living. It means you get a better view from the sitting area. There's a small balcony up there with a chair or two.
There's a shop about fifty yards away and a couple of pubs in the village that do food. The South West Coast Path runs right past, so you can walk to Salcombe one way or to Thurlestone the other. The scenery is very good.
Salcombe is about four miles by road. It's busy in summer, lots of boats and shops. Thurlestone is two miles west, it's got a golf course on the cliffs. Kingsbridge is inland, it's got a sports centre and a museum.
For a bigger day out, Dartmoor is under an hour's drive. Plymouth and Exeter are both within that too. There are a lot of National Trust properties around if that's your thing.
Facilities-wise: it's got a washing machine, TV, WiFi, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are provided. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog.
