Mariners Rest is in Inner Hope. It's a terraced cottage, one of a row. The beach is a minute's walk away, maybe less. It's a sandy cove between the headlands.
The cottage sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place. It's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are mentioned in the description, and they're not wrong. They're open tread and a bit steep.
The living room is upstairs. That's the "upside-down" bit. It means you get a better view from the main room. There's a small balcony area up there too, with a chair.
You're right in the village. There's a shop about fifty yards away and a couple of pubs. They do food. Hope Cove itself is small, just a few streets of cottages.
For walking, the South West Coast Path goes right past. You can walk to Salcombe one way or Thurlestone the other. It's proper coastal path, so some bits are steep.
Salcombe is four miles by road. It's busy in summer. Lots of boats in the estuary. Thurlestone is about two miles west. It's got a big beach and a golf course on the cliffs.
Kingsbridge is inland. It's got a leisure centre and shops. If you want to go further, Dartmoor is under an hour's drive.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, a cot and highchair if you need them, bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. You can bring one dog.
