Baxter Barn is in Carleton in Craven. It's a barn conversion, so it's a modern, open-plan space inside. It's a couple of miles outside Skipton, so you've got walking right from the door but you can be in a proper town in five minutes.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One bedroom has a zip-and-link bed that can be a super king or two singles. The other has a double. There's one bathroom, a Jack and Jill style, so you go through it to get between the bedrooms. It's a nice double shower.
The main space is all open-plan: kitchen, dining table, and living area. There’s a high ceiling with a mezzanine level above the living bit. You get up to it by a small, steep staircase. It's a reading nook with a couple of chairs and some books. The views from the big windows are the main thing. It's all fields and sky.
Outside there's an enclosed garden area with seating. You'll see sheep.
Skipton is the main thing locally. Good market, the castle, and the canal. You can get a boat trip or just walk the towpath. For a bigger walk, you're right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are about a 20-minute drive. Good if you want a proper hike.
Facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Everything's included. It's rated 4 Star, so it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. No pets.
