Stable Cottage is in Broughton, just outside Skipton. It was part of the old stable block for the hall, so it's a proper stone-built cottage. You're in the corner of a courtyard, next to the walled garden. The garden here is yours to use.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, so one is ensuite. The beds can be doubles or twins, you just need to ask beforehand. The stairs are cottage stairs. They're fine, but they turn a corner and are a bit steep.
You're on a big private estate, about 3000 acres. You can walk straight out from the cottage onto the grounds. There are woods, reservoirs, rivers. You'll see the main hall, Broughton Hall, from the paths. It's all very quiet. There's a bistro about a five minute walk away, in the old coach house. They do breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.
If you want a treatment or a class, the Avalon Wellbeing Centre is right next to the cottage. You can book things like yoga or massage. They also do Land Rover experience days from the estate office if that's your sort of thing.
Skipton is about ten minutes' drive. It's a good market town with shops and pubs. The Dales are right there. You're close to places like Malham Cove and Gordale Scar. For a day out, Bolton Abbey is about twenty minutes away.
In the cottage, there's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen has what you need: washing machine, oven, fridge. There's a TV and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for two cars right outside.
You can bring up to two dogs. We leave a stairgate and a highchair in the cupboard under the stairs.
