Old Chapel House is in Barnoldswick, over near the Yorkshire border. It used to be a Baptist chapel. We converted it a few years ago. It's Grade II listed so some things like the windows and the stonework had to stay.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is attached to the main bedroom. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's comfortable. The main living area is open plan, so it's good for a group. One of the sofas is a big leather Chesterfield. The ceiling is high, like it would be in a chapel.
The kitchen has a big island with concrete worktops and bar stools. The dining table is a bit more formal. There are French doors to a patio out the back with a table and chairs.
The stairs go up to a gallery landing, which overlooks the living room. The chapel windows let in a lot of light. Be aware that being a listed building, the staircase is original, so the treads are steep. Watch your step.
You can park three cars on site, and there's a free car park just opposite if you need more.
The house is right on one of the oldest streets in town. The local shops, pubs and a few places to eat are about 100 yards away. There's a beauty salon attached to the building, run by the same owner. If you want treatments, you need to book directly with them before you arrive and say you're staying at the Chapel House.
Barnoldswick itself is interesting. It's on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. There's Bancroft Mill with a working steam engine. The town has a market twice a week.
You can get to a lot of places from here. Skipton is about 20 minutes. Bolton Abbey and Haworth are maybe 30 minutes. The Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland are on the doorstep. The Lake District is about an hour's drive. If you want the coast, Blackpool and Lytham St Anne's are also within an hour.
Included in the price: bedding, towels, WiFi, and a washing machine. There's a cot available. No pets.
