Gargrave Cottage

Gargrave Cottage is in Broughton, which is about seven miles south of Skipton. It's a stone terrace cottage, one of a block of four. You get your own enclosed garden out the front.

The cottage sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after but not luxurious. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steeper and narrower than you'd get in a modern house.

There's a pub about a five minute walk away. It serves food. For shopping, Skipton is your best bet.

The main thing here is the access to the big rewilding estate attached to the property. You get free entry. It's miles of moorland, ancient woodland, and riverside paths on your doorstep for walking or cycling. It's very quiet.

If you want to see the Dales proper, Grassington is about a 20 minute drive north. Kettlewell is another 15 minutes up the road from there. Kilnsey Crag, where the climbers go, is on the way. The whole area is good for walks. You can find routes for all levels.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, a cot and highchair if you need them, bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car right outside. No pets allowed.
