Stirton Burrow is a barn we converted, next to our house in the hamlet of Stirton. It's detached and sleeps two. You can see it in the photos, it's that stone one.
It's got one bedroom and one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. It's not huge, but it's just for two people so it works.
The place is quiet. You get a patio and garden to yourselves. There's a hot tub out there. Inside, there's a wood burning stove for cooler nights, a TV, WiFi, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
You can walk straight from the door into the countryside, up around Sharphaw. To get to Skipton town centre, it's about a mile and a quarter. It's a walk if you're feeling energetic, or a very short drive. Skipton's got the castle, the canal, shops, pubs, and places to eat.
Within half an hour you can drive to Harrogate. The Yorkshire Dales are right there, of course. For a longer day out, York or the Lake District are just over an hour in the car.
